Herdie support
Herdie connects your iPhone or iPad directly to a Mac or Linux host running Herdr over SSH.
Before connecting
- Install Herdr on your host and confirm it runs there.
- Enable SSH access and make sure the host is reachable from your device.
- Have the hostname or IP address, SSH port, username, and authentication method ready.
- Verify the host-key fingerprint against a trusted source before accepting it in Herdie.
Herdie does not provide a hosted computer, SSH account, or AI subscription.
Connection problems
Confirm that the hostname, port, and username are correct. If you use a private network or Tailscale, confirm that your device can reach the host through that network. In Herdie, open the connection details for the error message and use the connection-help screen.
A changed SSH host key can mean the host was rebuilt or its identity changed. Verify the new fingerprint with the host operator before trusting it.
